About Timothy
My work has moved across military and public service, human resources, higher education, research, and entrepreneurship. The settings differ, but the questions are consistent: What do people need to do good work? What makes an organization useful? How can an idea become something durable?
My connection to Michigan runs through the Upper Peninsula, Munising, Hubbard Lake, and Alpena County. The region’s distances, seasons, small communities, and working landscapes have shaped how I think about institutions: they matter most when they are useful, dependable, and close to the people they serve.
My professional foundation includes service in the United States Air Force and Michigan Air National Guard, followed by federal civilian human-resources work. Those settings taught me the value of clear processes, responsible stewardship, and the quiet administrative work that allows larger missions to succeed.
I have worked across recruitment and staffing, workforce planning, employee relations, organizational processes, HR systems, and process improvement. I see human resources as both a people function and a systems discipline: good outcomes require attention to individual experience and organizational design.
As a DBA candidate and business professor, I work at the point where practical experience meets structured inquiry. Teaching, mentoring, and applied research allow me to help students translate concepts into decisions they can use in real organizations.
Maxon Products, Citadel Wireless, and Fullrange Supply grew from the same practical impulse: identify a real need, understand the operating system around it, and build carefully. Entrepreneurship is not separate from my other work; it is another way to test ideas and make them useful.
